After a highly successful tour in October 2005 the Amsterdam Pianoduo has been re-invited to China, this time to Shanghai and Beijing.
On October 13th the Duo will perform a Mozart programme for piano duet and two pianos at the famous Shanghai Concert Hall. The next day a concert will be given at the concert hall of the Beijing Central Conservatory, with compositions by Bach, Saint-Saëns, Ravel, Beethoven, Dvorak, Mozart and the Dutch composer George Hendrik Witte. On October 15th the Duo will give a masterclass at the same conservatory.
Chinese media are extensively covering the performances, and music portal DoFaLa has organised a competition in which participants may put their own piano performances on-line. The performances are to be judged by a professional jury, prices are tickets for the Beijing concerts and the winner may partake in the masterclass on October 15th.
Expectations are that the concerts will be sold out, as was the case in 2005.
The concerts are sponsored by Dutch geotechnical corporation Fugro, and organised by HollandChina, specialists in Dutch-Chinese cooperation.
